LONG COURSE SENIOR STATE CHAMPIONS!!!
Congratulations to everyone that competed at the Iowa Long Course State
Championships. We had some fabulous swims and came out with the State
Championship trophy in the senior division. Overall, our entire team ended
up placing third!! A great team effort was made by everyone involved.
We had more swimmers participating this year than we have had in several

traveling to Oxford, Ohio with Team Iowa to compete against some of the best

7/26/04 Team Picnic
As usual, everyone had a great time at our annual team picnic. Thanks to Laura Gayton for organizing the event and thanks to Famous Dave's for catering the food. Make sure to check out pictures in the photo gallery!! It was also reward time for a successful regional meet. Having achieved 90 best times at the meet, names were drawn and Coach Judy and Coach Jen received a sweet treat...in the face!

Congratulations Regionals and Sectional swimmers!
Bett swimmers had some great performances at swim meets this weekend. At Regionals in Cedar Rapids we beat our goal of 90 best times. Come to the picnic tonight to watch the consequences for Judy and Jen for beating our goal. Congrats to swimmers for making new "Q" times - Amanda Miller, Rebecca Alves, Jon Alves, John Beck, Liz Adams, Ashton Ehrecke, WJ Shammas, and Paula Coryn.
At Sectionals in Minneapolis, Bett swimmers also performed well. Only the best senior swimmers from several states in our section qualify to attend. Bettendorf was the highest placing Iowa team and we ended up 19th out of over 200 teams in our section. CLICK HERE to view the results. Congrats to the following swimmers for scoring at Sectionals:

07/13/04 Quincy:
Congratulations to all Bett swimmers for bringing home the 2nd place team trophy at the Quincy meet July 9-11 (2nd place traveling team, home team didn't count). The swimmers were "hot" and many had great times. There were several new "Q" times achieved at the meet. On Saturday night, thanks to Coach Barry and members of the Sheridan Swim Club in Quincy, we had a team BBQ at the club. After dinner the swimmers were able to use the facilities and many showed us their high diving abilities, including a daring parent! Unfortunately the meet was called off early when a thunderstorm rolled in on Sunday afternoon. Congratulations to Zach Bartholomew (13-14 boys) and James Dragon (Senior men) who won high point awards for their age groups and to Will Horvat for placing as runner-up in the 11-12 boys division. 7/23/04 REGIONALS
Good luck to our swimmers attending the North Regional Meet in Cedar Rapids. This is the last chance to make state cut times for many swimmers and the last meet of the summer for others. We wish all of you the best of luck! Warm-ups are at 8:15 AM for the morning session and 12:00 noon for the afternoon session. 03/25/04 Winter Champs:
Congratulations to BETT swimmers for outstanding performances at Regionals, Age Group Champs, Senior State Champs, and Sectionals. We had more swimmers at Regionals and Age Group Champs than we have had for the past 2 years and many swimmers won bead necklaces and candy for outstanding performances. We had 8 more swimmers this year at age group champs and we improved our point total over last year by more than 300 points, which was the highest improvement of all the teams. The week after our age group swimmers rocked the pool at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, our senior swimmers came and set the pool on fire. Bett Swim Club won the meet handily and going into the start of the last day of the meet, we already had as many points as we had earned in the entire meet last year. Congratulations to Bett Swim Club, 2004 Senior Short Course State Champions! We also had several swimmers compete in the Sectional championships in Illinois where Bett swam against some of the top teams in the midwest. We had some great swims, and Bett placed an outstanding 9th place overall. GO BETT!!

Congratulations to BETT swimmers for earning the First Place team trophy at the DASH meet in Dubuque Feb. 14-15. We also had the following swimmers earn high point awards for their overall places throughout the meet:
